Scintigraphic evaluation of gastric emptying after greater curvature plication in comparison with sleeve gastrectomy
Introduction: Laparoscopic gastric plication (LGP) is a relatively new restrictive bariatric procedure that emerged to avoid the problems and to reduce the cost of laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy. In this study we present the initial short-term outcome of LGP and its effect on gastric emptying and compare it with the results of laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (LSG). <stro...
متن کاملOutcomes of Laparoscopic Gastric Greater Curvature Plication in Morbidly Obese Patients
BACKGROUND Laparoscopic gastric greater curvature plication (LGGCP) is a restrictive bariatric procedure without gastrectomy. However, limited literature on effectiveness of gastric plication exists. OBJECTIVES We assessed LGGCP's efficacy, effects on associated comorbidities, safety and the rate of complications, and patient satisfaction with LGGCP's outcomes among morbidly obese patients. ...

Laparoscopic greater curvature plication (LGCP) is relatively a new procedure. We report a novel complication of obstructive jaundice in a 24-year-old patient post LGCP. This was secondary to gastric mucosa prolapse with obstruction of the ampulla of Vater. A literature review revealed no previous reports of similar complication.
